The First Training Day

In the seminar “From Culture of Power to Empowerment Culture” given by Professor Dr. Zeynep Aycan, leadership models were also emphasized. Then, Dr. Aslı E. Mert, the director of our project, made a speech in which participants shared their views and experiences on the effect of leadership perception and inequality of domestic division of labor on women’s careers. In the classroom, participants and facilitators talked about leadership and management concepts and discussed leadership in a theoretical and conceptual context.

The Second Training Day

We have examined the problems women face in the way of leadership and focused on ways to overcome these barriers. In the workshop, which was given by Şebnem Selışık Aksan and F. Emine Baran, the participants carried out a discussion on the leader’s communication with body language and environment.

The Third Training Day

In addition to focusing on the importance and strategies of leaders’ self and time management, we focused on the different ways of leadership, the challenges of trying to please everyone as a leader, and the ways to overcome them and the importance of using initiative.  At the seminar in the second half of the day, Professor Dr. Kübra Doğan Yenisey explained the problems faced by women on the way of leadership and in the business environment, and the legal solutions of these problems. Answering the questions of our participants, professor also shared important information about workplace problems (especially mobing) and their rights at work.

The Fourth Training Day

Today’s training has focused on different leadership types and strategies, managing difficult people and branding women as leaders. Tat Gıda Board Member and General Manager Arzu Aslan Kesimer shared her experiences and underlined how women were left behind in business life. After a motivating speech about being a leader, she listened to our participants’ experiences and shared examples from her own career.

The Fifth Training Day

The first four training days were completed after the general leadership training, with sector-specific leadership training, seminars, and workshops in 10 different sectors. In addition to the networking time organized among our participants, networking opportunities were provided with competent and successful women in their respective fields. Later on, Şirin Yelmen Oktar gave important recommendations to our participants in her speech on work-life balance.

The Sixth Training Day

The sixth training day started with sectoral debate sessions on women and masculinity from the eyes of men. Professor Dr. Zeynep Aycan organized a seminar entitled “Who wants to be a leader, who doesn’t want it? Leadership motivation and anxiety to be a leader”. Aycan shared the results of the survey, which she implemented on the first training day, which would enable our participants to know themselves better as the leaders of the future. The sixth training day ended with the inspiring seminar of Melek Pulatkonak, who is a founder and manager of TurkishWIN and Binyaprak.
