1st Training and Seminar Day

In the first training day, volunteers welcomed the participants at the Koç University Founders’ Hall and offered treats. Professor Dr. Zeynep Aycan emphasized that the leadership models and the “fatherly” leadership model in our country should be reduced from the dominant one, and organized a seminar entitled “From Culture of Power to Empowerment Culture” to motivate our participants. The participants also answered the questionnaire prepared by Aycan based on the theme of concern about being a leader by Prof. Aycan. Then, Dr. Aslı E. Mert, the director of our project, made a speech about the perception of leadership and the inequality of the domestic division of labor as a barrier against women becoming leaders. In the content of the training, the subjects such as being a leader, differences between the leader and the manager, and the subjects referred to the basic concepts and literature were mentioned.
