Beral Madra (b. 1942, Istanbul), Turkish art critic, author and curator of contemporary art, graduated from the Private German High School in 1961, where she began her studies in 1954. Then he studied at Istanbul University, Faculty of Literature, Department of Archeology. Between 1980-1982 she lectured at the Istanbul State Academy of Fine Arts (now known as Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University). She was the general coordinator of the 1st Istanbul Bienal in 1987 and the 2nd Istanbul Bienal in 1989. She curated 43, 45, 49, 50 and 51 of the Venice Bienal, exhibitions in Turkey. Between 2000-2004, he took part in the establishment of the Art Management Program at the Faculty of Art and Design at Yıldız Technical University. She established the Turkey branch of the International Association of Art Critics (AICA - Association Internationale des critiques d'Art). In 2010, she became the Visual Arts Manager of Istanbul European Capital of Culture. She became the founding board member of the association AMCA International (Turkey, Iran and the Arab world Modern and Contemporary Art Association) in 2010. Beral Madra, who co-curated the Bucharest Bienal in 2018, lives and works in Istanbul.
After graduating from Private French Notre Dame de Sion High School, she received her bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Bilkent University in 1996. Mrs. Candemir started his professional career as a Financial Analyst at Ata Invest. After working in various projects and positions, she joined YEDAŞ in 1998. Demet Candemir serves as Financial Affairs, Sales and Marketing Manager respectively.
Elif Aral graduated from Işık High School in 1990 and from Istanbul University, Department of Economics in 1994. She started her career in 1995 as a management trainee at Pfizer Turkey. Then she gained experience in the field for 8 months as a Medical Sales Representative.
Between 1996 and 1998, Elif Aral served as Product Manager and later served as Group Sales and Marketing Manager and Group Marketing Manager at Pfizer. Between 2004 and 2007, Aral served as the Director of Emerging Markets Sales and Marketing, and between 2007 and 2009, he was appointed as Corporate Strategy and Business Development Director and then Sales and Marketing Director. Aral, by the year 2012 after her appointment as the Director of Corporate Affairs, as of January 1, 2014, became Pfizer Turkey's new General Manager.
Born in 1960 in Istanbul, Işıl Arıdağ graduated from Robert College in 1978. After completing her undergraduate degree in 1982 at the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Department of Business Administration at Boğaziçi University, she also completed her master's degree in Psychology at Boğaziçi University.
After doing some professional work in advertising and public relations, she became one of the founding members of UNITE Communication in 1998, providing communication consultancy to leading local and international companies and brands. From 2002 to 2006 she worked as a part-time instructor at Bahçeşehir University Faculty of Communication. At the moment, she is giving keynote speeches in the field of communication from time to time.
Arıdağ has an active role in business life as the General Manager of UNITE Communication. In the fields of communication consultancy and human relations under the Unite brand; she also works in the fields of event management and digital communication under CreativeUnit and CoffeeShop brands. After serving as a board member between 2010-2012, she was elected as the president of the Communication Consultancy Companies Association (IDA) in December 2014 and assumed the responsibility of representing the public relations sector.
Born in Istanbul in 1961, Pınar Eczacıbaşı started high school in Işık schools and continued her university education at New Hampshire University, Faculty of Engineering, Department of Chemistry. Then she returned to Turkey in Bogazici University Business Administration (MBA) - has a master's degree in Finance. The subject of the master's thesis is related to the contribution of the family companies to the capital markets through a public offering. She started her career in the finance industry at the credit-marketing department of Manufacturers Hanover Trust Company-Istanbul. Afterwards, he continued as the Correspondent Relations Department Manager at Tekstilbank and as the Assistant General Manager responsible for marketing to financial institutions at ING Bank N.V Barings- in Istanbul. Pınar Eczacıbaşı has been providing financial and investment consultancy services to individuals and organizations since 1999, she continues as a representative of the world's largest investment and financial institutions belonging to the group Schroders Schroder & Co Banque SA in Turkey. Pınar Eczacıbaşı, Young Executives and Businessmen Association of Turkey's leading nongovernmental organizations (GYIAD) and the President of DEIK Turkish-Belgian member of the Advisory Board and DEIK / Turkey-Luxembourg Business Council. Eczacıbaşı is also a member of the DEİK Board of Directors and is the Chairman of the IVCI- Istanbul Venture Capital Initiative- Strategic Network. She is a member of the Corporate Governance Association of Turkey, and Member of Advisory Board of Finance Club and she is a founding member of the Foundation for the Protection of Important Historical Monuments in Istanbul.
She received her BA in Economics and Political Science from the University of Rochester, New York in 1985, and completed Financial Management and Executive Education Programs at Columbia University. Ümit Boyner started her career at Chemical Mitsui Bank. After two years of banking, she worked as a Finance Manager for 6 years in various companies in the private sector. After serving as Investment Director at Türk Petrol Holding, he joined Boyner Holding in 1996 as Finance Director. By the year 2002, she has been a member of the Board of Directors of Boyner Holding.
In 2005, she became the responsible board member of the Foreign Promotion Commission of the Turkish Industry and Business Association (TÜSİAD). In 2007 she became vice president. She was elected as the Chairman of TÜSİAD on January 21, 2010. Ümit Boyner, who was re-elected at TÜSİAD 42nd General Assembly, ended her duty in 2013.
Ümit Boyner is also a founding member of the Women Entrepreneurs Association (KAGIDER) and served as the vice president for four years. At the same time she is a member of the board of trustees of Turkey Underwater Archeology Foundation, the Turkish Education Foundation, and Tohum Autism Foundation. Since 2008, she has been a member of the Advisory Board of the Middle East Division, Carnegie Endowment for International Peace. Ümit Boyner is married and has two children.
She was born in 1963 in Of, Trabzon. M. Sondan Durukanoğlu Feyiz graduated from Istanbul University, Faculty of Science, Department of Physics in 1989. She holds a Master's Degree in Physics from the University of Wisconsin (1992) and a Ph.D. (1999) in Physics from Kansas State University. In 2000, she continued her studies as an assistant professor at Istanbul Technical University. In 2006, she became an associate professor and in 2011, she became a professor at Sabancı University. She is currently a member of the Jury for Sustainable Business Awards and is a Panelist and Judge for TUBITAK Research Projects. Dr. M. Sondan Durukanoğlu Feyiz; In 2018, she was appointed as the Rector of Kadir Has University. In 1991, Feyiz (1991-1995) was the only female scholarship in the field of Physics with the Ministry of National Education scholarship, and she was awarded the TÜBİTAK Scholarship Support Program - BİDEP Scholarship and TÜBA Textbook Translation Award (2010).
Doing her Ph.D. between 1994 and 1997, Feyiz was a faculty member at Kansas State University, where she worked as a research assistant between 1997-1999 and as a postdoctoral research assistant between 1999-2000. Zeynep Ürkün graduated ranking first from Ankara University, Faculty of Language, History, and Geography, Department of English and American Language and Literature. In 1994, she completed her Master's degree at Cambridge University - “Royal Society of Arts”. After her graduation, she lectured at Bilkent University between 1989-2007 and Boğaziçi University between 1997-2001. Starting from 1992, she specialized in Measurement and Evaluation in English Language Teaching. In 1994, she studied “Main Principles of English Language Assessment” at the University of Reading, UK. In the following years, she continued to work in the same field. Between 2001 and 2016, she led the establishment of the Measurement and Evaluation Unit at Sabancı University and she was the director. Since 2001, she is a member of IATEFL (International Association of Teachers of English as a Foreign Language). From 2006 to 2010, she was the coordinator of the IATEFL Testing, Evaluation and Assessment Special Interest Group and has organized academic training conferences in Austria, the Czech Republic, China, Dubai, Croatia, Ireland, Spain, northern Cyprus, and Turkey. Between 2010 and 2016, she also served on the board of IATEFL and supported the development of this foundation operating in 120 countries. In the year 2016, she has been decided to continue in Turkey her experiences in foundations of international management.
Born in 1976 in Gaziantep, Assoc. Dr. Burcu Özsoy received her bachelor's degree in Geodesy and Photogrammetry Engineering, also known as Surveying Engineering, at Yıldız Technical University. In 2001, she started to work as a research assistant at Istanbul Technical University (ITU) Maritime Faculty and in 2005, she went to the USA, the University of Texas at San Antonio for a Ph.D. Here she began working on remote sensing and met important American scientists. Her adviser gave her a chance to choose one of the two research topics he held. One is related to Mars and the other to the Antarctic sea glaciers. Dr. Özsoy chose Antarctica because she thought she could not go to Mars but she was likely to go to Antarctica. In 2006, she joined the 1-month Antarctic research expedition with the icebreaker ship ODEN.
After graduating from Galatasaray High School, Melkan Gürsel Tabanlıoğlu graduated from Istanbul Technical University, Department of Architecture in 1993. After completing her Master of Architecture degree at the Polytechnic University of Metropolitan Catalunya and various architectural experiences, she joined Tabanlıoğlu Architecture in 1995 as a partner, increasing the number of female architects to 60%. She was the General Director of Arkitekt magazine, as one of the youngest editors. She lectures on various national and international platforms and serves as a jury member in many programs. Gürsel Tabanlıoğlu has signed many national and international projects and received many national and international awards. In 2008, she was named “One of the 40 European architects under the age of 40” by The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies. In 2010, together with Murat Tabanlıoğlu, she was named “Architect of the Year” by Big Project Middle East Awards. She also curated the 2015 London Design Festival with French artist Arik Levy.
